Rule 1: 1. The full declension of ذُو and ذَات
ذُو is one of the five nouns that show their case by a long vowel, like أَبُو / أَبَا / أَبِي. It is always the first term of an iḍāfa, so its dual and plural drop their ن: dual ذَوَا (nominative), ذَوَيْ (accusative and genitive); plural ذَوُو (nominative), ذَوِي (accusative and genitive). The feminine ذَاتُ declines like any noun, but without tanwīn because of the iḍāfa: ذَاتُ / ذَاتَ / ذَاتِ; its dual is ذَوَاتَا / ذَوَاتَيْ and its plural ذَوَاتُ / ذَوَاتِ (a sound feminine plural, so the accusative is ذَوَاتِ too). Whatever its form, ذُو copies the case of the noun before it.
